20076-2008 Season

The new season begins on July 1, 2007.  All USFS Full and Basic Skill members need to renew their memberships on/before that date.  Please visit the MEMBERSHIP page for specific information.

Registration Forms can be downloaded from the FORMS page to sign up for summer group lessons and/or ice sessions!

Group Lessons

Group Lessons will begin again September.  The season will end with the completion of the sixth session in June.  Dates are available on our CALENDAR page.  More information can be found on the GROUP LESSONS page.

The popular Park & Recreation Department program has been combined with our Basic 1 and 2 levels. All beginning skaters will now be in the same program and pay the same fee for the first two levels.

Membership is not required for the Basic 1 or 2 level.

Group lessons will run for six weeks again.

Membership

We now have two types of memberships:  USFSA Full Membership and USFSA Basic Skill Membership.  If you are competing in anything other than a Basic Skills competition or Badger State Games you will need a full membership.  USFSA memberships no longer offer supplemental insurance.

Bulletin Board and Website

The club's official Bulletin Board is located on the east wall of the lobby at the Kettle Moraine Ice Center.  It is one of the best sources of club information.  Please check it regularly or the website for club information and updates.

Apparel

Club Apparel can be ordered twice each year: Nov. 15 and Feb. 1.  We are in the process of checking on availability with our vendor.  We have also added new Landend Parka for the coaches and parents!  More information will follow soon!

The club's order form will be available to download in the very near future on the KMFSC APPAREL page.

If you are planning on competing at Badger State Games in February and want to have a club jacket, please place your orders by November 1.  Apparel must be ordered from our vendor and upon receipt sent to our embroider.

Please make sure you wear your jacket at each competition you enter!

Test Application Procedures

Club members can now submit their applications to participate in another club's test session without waiting for the test chair's signature (Debbe Lemminger).  However, you are required in that situation to provide the test chair with a copy of the application within seven days of it's submission.  The copy will serve as a request to have the test chair email a certification to the host club's test chair, provide a record of the test applied for and as a reminder to watch for a Final Test Report.

We have already experienced two clubs that did not properly file Final Test Reports.  We did not become aware of those situation until problems arose.  The club would like to stay on top of those types of records being filed in a timely manner.  Your cooperation will be appreciated!

Competition Entry Forms

Remember that your entries must be signed by a club officer.  Please pay close attention to whose signature is required (President, Secretary, etc.). Officers are typically available at the rink during normal club ice sessions.  You can also mail these forms directly to us at our post office box during off-season period.  Plan ahead!

 Generally your coaches signature is also required.

Non-qualifying participates (Pre-Juvenile and Juvenile (13 & Older) will need to watch for Non-qualifying event information as it differs from Qualifying.

Badger State Games entries are due, via online registration at SK "8" LINKS!, by January 4by 11 PM online (12-28 by mail)!  And, please make your hotel reservations now at the Holiday Inn in Mosinee!  Rooms go fast!!!

Sanctions and Letters of Permissions

We have encountered a new problem this season - mostly due to skaters and their parents not knowing USFSA's rules and procedures. 

If a KMFSC skater is participating in an event (test, competition, exhibition, ice show, etc.) they MUST have the permission of their home club.

It is our responsibility to know the rules and regulations of USFSA and make sure each member skater is in compliance so their eligibility status is not invalidated for the season!

Please make sure you are getting permission before participating in any non-KMFSC sponsored events!  If you are not sure - please ask us!

Upper Great Lakes Regionals Championships

Information for the 2008 UGL Regionals Championships will be available July, 2008!  The prestigious qualifying competition is scheduled for October, 2006 in St. Paul.  It is hosted by the St. Paul FSC.  Hotel information is available - and remarkably - many hotels are already fully booked.  Kettle Moraine skaters will be staying at the Bloomington Courtyard by Marriott and Residence Inn!
