The Professional Skaters Association is an international organization responsible for the education of skating
coaches. The PSA apprentice program is designed to develop skaters into group lesson coaches and introduce them
to figure skating coaching.
Since the success of our future skaters depends on superior instruction the apprentice program is the first
step in developing into a quality coach!
Elibibility
Skaters who are 15 or older may apply to be part of an apprenticeship.
Curriculum

20 Hours Off Ice Classroom Sessions (including a one hour final exam)

10 Hours On Ice Observation/Assisting in Group Lesson/Private Lesson

5 Hours First Aid/CPR Training (Scheduled and Paid for by Participants)

3 Hours Supplemental Work (Ice Skating Related Videos, Books or Additional Observation)
Total Hours = 30
Certification
Certificates are issued designating the number of hours of study completed with a PSA Master Rated Group Lesson
Coach. These certificates can be used, along with resumes to assure clubs, rinks or student that the professional actively
pursued training in group lesson coaching.

$25 PSA Apprentice Application Fee

$80 PSA Membership ($50 Intern Membership plus $30 One-Time Fee); Participants must be 16 at this point.

$75 Liability Insurance (Must be Acquired at Completion of Program to Coach)

Instructor
Craig Bodoh is a PSA Master Rated Group Lesson Coach and KMFSC Club Professional. He has 25 years of
teaching experience and has run the mentor programs both locally and nationally.
