KMFSC's Professional Coaches

The Kettle Moraine Figure Skating Club is a proud member of PSA's Excellence on Ice program.
As such all of the club's coaches are required to be members of PSA, encouraged to continue their coaching education to advance within their profession and obtain PSA Rankings and Ratings as evidence of their accomplishments as a coach and their level of education.

Effective July, 2010 U.S. Figure Skating will require coaches to carry a minimal certification only attained through continued education.  A Level B certification is your assurance that each coach has passed courses in U.S. Figure Skating Rule and Regulations, Sport Safety and Coaching Ethics.  A Level A certification is attained upon passing an additional course in the International Judging System.

PSA's Ranks, Ratings and Certifications provide you relevant information when determining which coach is right for you and your child!

U.S. Figure Skating/PSA Certification

In cooperation with the Professional Skaters Association (PSA), U.S. Figure Skating will require the mandatory continuing education requirement (CER) for all U.S. Figure Skating sanctioned events as of July 1, 2010. The rational behind this requirement, is to set a standard of a foundational level of education for coaches with regard to Sport Safety, Ethics, U.S. Figure Skating Rules, and International Judging System Rules (IJS). This site will allow professionals to achieve their required Annual Core Credits (ACC) in the most convenient way, 24 hours a day and 7 days a week.

Coaches have until July 2010 to complete their mandatory continuing education and annually thereafter.  Click on the U.S. Figure Skating/PSA Certification link above for detailed information.

U.S. Figure Skating

U.S. Figure Skating is our governing body and membership is required of all coaches, skaters and board members of the Kettle Moraine Figure Skating Club.  There is a vast amount of information available simply by visiting U.S. Figure Skating.

U.S. Figure Skating is a membership-based organization with more than 70 percent of its members 17 years of age or younger. In keeping with the standards of many youth sports organizations, schools and recreational programs in America today, U.S. Figure Skating has implemented a background screening process to help ensure that we are providing a safe environment and protecting the welfare of all participants in U.S. Figure Skating sanctioned activities. Parents must also have the highest degree of confidence that their children are not only receiving good care and proper instruction but are safe from improper conduct.

KMFSC Coaches must be on U.S. Figure Skatings Registration List to gain privileges to teach group lessons/privately.
